Good Morning Watershed Explorers,
Dr. Jane Goodall produced her first Hopecast. If you have time to listen, I encourage you to do so. Here is a link https://news.janegoodall.org/2020/12/30/jane-goodall-hopecast-podcast-ep-1-you-are-reason-for-hope/
At age 86, Dr. Goodall continues to spread her message of hope. Spoiler alert: Her greatest reason for hope, YOU! She believes that young people have great power and can change the world. I agree with her completely. Every year, I am inspired by all of my Watershed Explorer students. Your passion for learning and enthusiasm each lesson are the reason I wake up every day in love with what I do.
This year, we have all adapted to our changing environment. Seeing each other through the screen is entirely different from working together outdoors and in the classroom. No matter where we have to work though, the message is still the same, we all make a difference. Our watersheds are important resources and together we can keep them strong. Whether we are learning through a screen, together in a classroom, or outdoors in nature, we are still learning. Education is power. The more we know about our natural resources, the better equipped we are to protect them.
I look forward to seeing you all this month and next for water quality lessons.
Much love,
Mrs. Morissette
