Saturdays are Screen-Free
Good Morning Watershed Explorers,
This will be my last Saturday post. I have made this decision, because Saturday is screen-free in my house and has been since January 2019. For over a year now, every Saturday my family has no screens. I broke screen-free rules last Saturday to bring you the blog, but I have decided that as important as it is to write to you, it is also an important tradition in my family to have at least one day a week with no screens. I encourage all of you to do the same, but if you are going to visit the website on Saturday, you can catch up on the blogs that you may have missed during the week. I am posting every day except Saturday, so there will still be plenty to read!
There are so many benefits to having having one screen-free day a week. This provides an opportunity to do what I like to call, tune-out to tune-in. Taking a break from screens allows everyone to be more aware of themselves as well as each other. There are so many wonderful opportunities that don't involve screens. Many of which are OUTSIDE!
Also, without the screens, there is usually more talking and more listening, which is great for everyone!
* Important note: I have been asking you to either comment on the blog, or send me an email with your stories, but I realized that because I took the comment piece off the website a while ago, it is also not available on the blog! I DO WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, so if you would like to connect with me, please have an adult in your house email me, or email your teacher and they can email me. I really want to stay connected with all of you, but I made the decision not to put the comments back on, because there were some problems with it in the past.
I really miss you all very much and I hope that your first week of digital learning went great. We are a huge Watershed Explorer family, so if there is anything that I can do to help, please let me know.
*STAY TUNED FOR AN AWESOME CRITTER SPOTLIGHT TOMORROW!!!
