Congratulations to the 2017-18 NBC Watershed Explorers on completing a year of education and exploration. The Explorers program topped its previous number of students educated, by almost 200 students, with this year's total being around 820.
These students went on field trips to their watersheds where they learned how to work as field scientists analyzing water quality and bio-indicator data, they built models of watersheds in their classrooms, and created fantastic research projects on a chosen macro invertebrate. Their creativity, artistically, musically, and intellectually was absolutely mind blowing.
As I reflect on this year's program and excitedly await the start of the next, I am just so impressed by the vast potential in our children. I wish all of this year's NBC Watershed Explorers the best in their educational futures and I encourage each one of them to find what interests and excites them and to nurture that as much as possible. There is so much wonder in our world, we just have to keep our eyes open long enough to see it.
Keep Exploring Friends!
